Hyrule

This Halloween my friend Emily wanted to be Link from Zelda and asked me to create her childhood dream accessory; Link's cap.

Here's a side view shot:

And here's an action shot of her and Spidey:

She was meant to be Link.

Materials: microfiber suede (I'd love to make this again using real suede)

Process

Here's a shot of my process in creating some images for my friends over at Tipsy Zine. This was part of an article printed in their first issue which you can purchase here.

Here's the finished product:

Also, it's been a while since anything recent has been posted but I've got some projects in mind and a new batch of wallets to post here soon. Stay tuned.

Past to Present

I've had a bad habit of not properly documenting my work, so here's a little post showing a small variety of pieces I've made from past to present...

Hand Signs

It's been a while, and I've recently relocated to the West Coast so thought it was time to do a little bit of updating.

Here are the finished patches from my previous post:

A-OK

This post is a throwback from when I made some DIY patches for a friend's party/art show during Pilsen's 2nd Fridays back in May. This a-ok is one of several hand signs/gestures I created. I learned a lot about the steps and process of making these tiny appliques. Lots of trial and error. More on the error side, but now I know better for next time. :)

Palm Trees and Summer Love

The weather in Chicago has been a little less than consistent, so I made this mini dress out of a  men's button-up in anticipation for warmer weather. I'm glad for this little creation as it has helped to fuel my next batch of items for my Re:Up label. Ps, I love my little bucket hat. 90 cent come up! Love those thrift store finds. <3 p="">

Have been wanting to create a pattern out of this design for some time now. Currently tweaking it in Photoshop.

Cut A Rug

While I'm at it, here's another project I've been working on. An overdue rug for my Grandmother. Initially she wanted me to knit her one, but I was so uninspired with what I was coming up with that I decided to just cut up some sweaters instead. I'm hoping she likes the end result either way! Maybe I'll add some kind of stitching along the edges? Still a work in progress.

(Pardon the poor quality photo. Taken with my Samsung tablet)

The Ladiez

Haven't posted anything in a while, so here's some quick sketches I scanned and played with in Photoshop.
